New York Fest final stop for
"We Have Your Daughter" in NYIIFVF

Dan Usaj and I handed out over 300 of these cards to festival attendees and the people of New York.
On April 2nd, 2003 Dan Usaj and I traveled in my old beat up 1992 Saturn to New York City for the NYC premier of "We Have Your Daughter". The screening was scheduled for Friday, but Wednesday was the opening night party and film market at Madison Square Gardens. We met quite a few people and gave out a lot of cards for people to come see our screening. The whole experience certainly taught me a lot and it was truly amazing to see my work on the big screen where it belongs. Thanks to everyone who made this film possible and helped promote it. In particular I want to thank Dan Smith of Consolidated Investments for his faith in me and what I'm trying to accomplish in Northeast Ohio.

The image at right was on both the official festival poster and festival brochure for both the LA fest and the NY fest. Thousands were printed and distributed at the festival venues and after parties.

This picture and article grace the pages of the Independent Film Quarterly - Spring 2003 and will be distributed at Cannes this year.
Though written a full year before last summer's rash of abductions, Bill Johns remains sensitive about 'allocations of exploitation'. "We live in a sick society," says Bill, "and if my film gets fathers to prepare their children for the worst, then I'm happy. We shouldn't have to face such things; we'd all like to think that we'll never see an act of evil committed against us, but more and more that's just not the case." Bill's company, Cinevid Productions, has helped produce four low budget features for other clients, but this is only his second time at the helm of his own work and he is now in the process of developing "We Have Your Daughter" into a feature film called, "The Reunion." Now don't worry, the short is a complete story, but it has a Hitchcock style ending that leaves the audience wondering what happens next, and Bill promises the feature will have plenty of action and drama before it answers all the questions. "The Reunion" will be Bill's third feature length screenplay and one of them, "PsyClone", is already in pre-production. "Now we just need some money!" laughs Bill. Yeah, don't we all.
